Gum Pain |
|
|
Gum pain can be caused by different issues. Sometimes it can be difficult to
assess without the opinion of a dental professional. Some possible causes of gum pain are:
Gingivitis - An inflammation of the gums which causes
them to be swollen and tender. Your gums may bleed easily when your teeth are
brushed. This is usually caused by food particles or plaque becoming trapped
between the teeth and gums. Bacteria can form and cause the gums to be inflamed.
This can lead to serious dental damage if left untreated.
Impacted tooth - A tooth that does not emerge from under your gums.
Abscessed tooth - This is a painful infection
between the gum and a tooth or at the root of a tooth. Most commonly caused by
severe tooth decay, it can also be caused by trauma, gingivitis or gum disease.
If you have pain in your gums, we recommend you make an appointment with one of our experienced dental professionals.
