Dr. Tonya Volk received her DDS degree in 2005 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, graduating with honors and gaining membership into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, one of the highest honors granted to graduating dental students.
Upon graduation, Dr. Volk moved to Chicago to continue her education in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago from which she received her Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters in Oral Sciences.
During her residency, Dr. Volk conducted research that concentrated on Maxillary Expansion and Class II Correction in patients. Her research was accepted for publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
In addition to being with Webster Dental, Dr. Volk is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago Orthodontic Department.
Dr. Volk is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the only certifying board recognized by the American Association of orthodontists and the American Dental Association. This is an achievement only about 50% of Orthodontists attain.
During her free time she enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, two sports she played during her undergraduate days while earning Second Team All-American and Scholar Athlete honors in NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball.
She enjoys the Chicago area’s entertainment and activities, but looks forward to traveling back home to Nebraska to see her family and friends.
